Prisoners Beat, Tortured, and Raped in Iran – At Least 11 Killed Tuesday

There are reports from Iran that people  in Iranian prisons, such as the notorious Evin prison, were beat, tortured, and even raped. Medical examinations of people released have proven all three of these claims. This report comes as the government cracks down on dissidents throughout all of Iran.

There are also reports that at least 11 people were killed Tuesday 30 June 2009.

It may well be that in the future the officials of the current regime will be tried at the hague for crimes against humanity.

Interior Ministry Statement About Saturday Rally Permission

Iran’s interior ministry said no permission has been given to hold any rally anywhere in the country on Saturday, the ISNA news agency reported.

Huffington Post reported about the Interior Ministry Statement claiming rally does not have permission:

“There are rumours by different political groups saying that a permission for a rally on Saturday has been issued. Hereby, these rumours are denied,” the ministry said.

“The dear and alert people are informed that no permission for any rally and gathering anywhere in the country has been issued.

“Obviously, those who violate this will be confronted according to the law,” the statement added, without elaborating.

The rally is proceeding regardless.

Basij “all over Tehran”… No sign of Army or IRG

There are reports from Iran that the Basij are all over Iran and have set up roadblocks on most streets. There is reportedly no sign of the Army or Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRG) though.

Supreme Leader Khamenei has promised to use the Army and IRG to suppress any further protests, but Mousavi, Karoubi, and Khatami are all going to attend a massive rally today (Saturday) at 4PM. It remains to be seen what the government response is. If it is violent, as promised, one can only imagine what the international response will be.

Iranian’s May Pull Back From Protests

CNN says that it has many Iranian sources saying that it seems reformists will heed Supreme Leader Khamenei and pull back from protests. Many other Iranians see different. Only time will tell which direction the protesters go from here.

Mousavi Asks for All to Show Support with “Allah Akbar”

There are confirmed reports that Mousavi is calling for ALL of Iran to stand on balconies TONIGHT at 9PM local time and show support with ‘Allah Akbar’ . this comes despite promises of more crackdown by Supreme Leader Khamene.
