Mousavi Giving a Speech to Rally

There are confirmed reports that Mosuavi is giving a speech on Jeyhoon Street in Tehran. This comes amid reports that there are great quantities of people at the rally, but they are split into many groups by police, Basij, and IRG. Reports say he said, “I am ready for Martyrdom.”

Interior Ministry Statement About Saturday Rally Permission

Iran’s interior ministry said no permission has been given to hold any rally anywhere in the country on Saturday, the ISNA news agency reported.

Huffington Post reported about the Interior Ministry Statement claiming rally does not have permission:

“There are rumours by different political groups saying that a permission for a rally on Saturday has been issued. Hereby, these rumours are denied,” the ministry said.

“The dear and alert people are informed that no permission for any rally and gathering anywhere in the country has been issued.

“Obviously, those who violate thisĀ will be confronted according to the law,” the statement added, without elaborating.

The rally is proceeding regardless.

Security Council Says Resultant Violence is Fault of Mousavi

The Security Council has said any violence resulting from unauthorized demonstrations is solely on Mousavi andhe blame will be 100% his. This comes in response to planned demonstrations at 4PM local time today, Saturday 20 June 2009.
